COME TO THINK OF IT, I SAW A CLOTHING STORE CALLED "FLYING A" IN MANHATTAN SEVERAL YEARS AGO USING THE SAME LOGO PRETTY MUCH.

I did a google search to look at the location. Either it has not been there long or google picture are way behind. It was an old station.

Good morning. The input I can give on this subject is this. Living in Reno Nv. (30) miles from Truckee and knowing the area well enough I will tell you that it originaly opened as a Associated "flying A" and remained that, till the better location of a Chevron on annother corner put the squeeze on the flying A and the owner thought then to do a clothing shop type souvenir theme. The pumps are fantasy but get this. The big flying A roof signs are restored and original says owner. One day maybe some lucky contractor with a front loader might get the contract do something new and fresh and get the demolition rights. Sweet

My close friend here in Reno has two Bennetts in 646 done in Flying A for an outside display. Im sure he to would love one of those neons. His friend Randy has all the story and facts of this station in Truckee, that roof top stuff is the real deal. Out of my collection of pumps I dont have a Flying A, but recently I accuried a very straight clean Wayne 505 and I think thats what I will restore it as. Most all the companys had very unique or recognizable colorful logo's, but you got say that winged A has a clean crisp look of its own.
