I found this old Sinclair bottle, can anyone tell me anything about it. I can't find any info on this bottle. Any help would be appreciated. The bottle looks to be 1/2 gallon amber in color. it says Sinclair petroleum Toledo Ohio. The neat part is that the jug handle is shaped like a gas pump handle. I would post a pic, but I don't know how to on this forum. Thanks guys.

A flea market in Somerset KY. I like to collect odd things, and this bottle fits the bill. I can't understand why i can't find anything about it on the net. Is it rare? is it worthless?.

Hi. I believe your bottle comes from the Sinclair company in Toledo that manufactures household chemicals, NOT the Sinclair oil company. You'll note your bottle is embossed "Sinclair Mfg. Co.", NOT "Sinclair Petroleum Co.". It is possible your bottle contained liquid detergent. I believe the Toledo company is still around. Here's a link to a 1961 Toledo newspaper ad that provides more info about your "Sinclair":

Welcome aboard. It reminds me of the old CLOROX bottles. Cool bottle with the handle like that.

I thought because the handle looked like a gas pump handle it might have something to do with gas. I wondxer how much the bottle is worth? and ideas?

Thanks for the link tutorial, Dick! I went back and modified my earlier post to include a link to the 1961 Sinclair Mfg. Co. cleaning products ad.

To Newbie: Yes, it's too bad this isn't a Sinclair oil product bottle. Be sure to let us know what the bottle experts at bottlebook.com say about your bottle and its value. I'm sure many of us would enjoy hearing your follow-up. John in Wisconsin

Handle is for using 2 fingers, instead of just 1 [like a moonshine jug].
