I'm still looking for info. There is a guy down the street that collects Sinclair stuff. When I showed the bottle to him, he started drooling. He wants to give me like $20 for the bottle. I could tell by the look on his face that he really wants it.

I'm having trouble understanding the original poster's last request for more information...and his statement about a Sinclair Oil collector "drooling" over this non-Sinclair Oil bottle. The link to the 1961 Toledo newspaper ad that was posted earlier in this thread clearly shows the bottle in question coming from Sinclair Manufacturing Co., a Toledo maker of cleaning products (nothing whatsoever to do with the Sinclair Oil company).

I guess the original poster who owns this bottle doesn't mind unloading this soap products bottle from Sinclair Manufacturing (not Sinclair Oil) on a fellow collector. This is a strange position for a "newbie" to Old Gas to take. He came to this forum seeking information about this bottle. However, after input from those of us who took the time to reply, he seems unwilling to believe what we're telling him....that he does not possess a Sinclair Oil Company bottle. John in Wisconsin

John,
Some have been watching too much American Pickers.
No matter what an item sells for they have to make it look good, IT'S ENTERTAINMENT TV, NOT reality.

As stated above HE COLLECTS SINCLAIR STUFF. IF, he is a SINCLAIR OIL COLLECTOR he knows it's not Oil related by the marking on the bottle neck Sinclair Mfg. Co.

I see that this bottle is not an oil bottle, I will just keep it. As an advertising collector myself, I would not want to mislead anyone. Thanks for the guys, the next time I find some gas station stuff, I will post it here.

Sinclair Mftg was located on Woodland Ave at the railroad tracks. It is empty lot now.....per my 1931 Toledo phone book.

It is a common mistake..I have run into that before.
