Hi guys...Great site. Just getting into the restoration of pumps. I have a 39S Tokheim I'm puting together. Is there any good literature out there to restoring and assembling these pumps? Specifically explosion views.
Also, I noticed the pump top is very difficult to get on the frame, but appears it compresses in so the notch will fit on to the frame. Is there any hints or tricks of the trade to get this top on the frame? Thanks for your help guys.

First of all, Welcome to Oldgas. I'm pretty sure, that in the summertime, there will be a little get together by you, called Iowa Gas. If you stop by, there might be a few Oldgassers there, to say hello. With that said, heres a link about a first time pump restoration. http://www.oldgas.com/shoptalk/ubb/Forum4/HTML/001409.htmlIts all basic stuff, and just about any of the procedures mentioned, can be improved upon, for even better results. Its not a Tokheim pump, but the basics are in there. Go slow. Take lots of pics. And ask questions. Most of all, have fun with it. Oh, and welcome to the madness....
Anything Chevron I'd rather be flying.....

Welcome aboard. Good luck on the restoration. I have not started my 39 yet because I am good at getting things tore down and bad at getting things put back. Mike

Can you post a pic. of your top ( bottom side ) I just finished a short 39 and am working on a tall 39 right now. Unless something is bent the top should slide right down. It's bolted in place by four long carriage bolts that drop down through the top of the frame. B.T.W.....Welcome to Oldgas! Hi guys...Great site. Just getting into the restoration of pumps. I'm not trying to embarrass anyone, I am only trying to let people know where they can find the information they are looking for, either on my website, or in the books that I have written.
Is there any other website that has the amount of information on it as mine does? If there is, I will start pushing that site.
Jack
