Where do I find markings on this 1905 gas pump. It is before the visibles. It is made of cast iron and the motor inside says daytona ? I know there has to be other markings on cast? or somewhere inside. It was from an old mill here in lancaster county,Pa. They bought it to refuel at the mill, while horses were still mainly in use, gas powered machines were coming into use.Any help would be great. fred

I have written two Gas Pump Identification books, the last one is available on my website:

www.petrocollect.com

My website also has over 5000 images, most of them are of gas pumps.

If you post a picture here on this site I will probably be able to identify your pump.

"1905" and "electric motor" does not sound right.

The motor probably says Dayton, not Daytona. They are one of the largest making electric motors.

Without a picture we really can't help you.
