Decided to try and clean up the glass on my G&B project today. It has been wrapped up in bubble wrap since the day I brought it home 10yrs ago. I washed it with soapy water and it looked perfect, but as it dried, one side is hazy. I tried a few things to clean the haze and as long as its wet, it looks perfectly clear, but as it dries the haze returns. You can't feel the haze and its on the outside. I tried some scotchbrite, and some automotive scratch and swirl remover and it didnt affect it. Also, I noticed the glass is etched with MADE IN USA, MACBETH, LUMITE and a large A. Anyone know anything about that? The pump is a G&B T176 or T177. I guess I'll know which one for sure when I get my book I ordered from Mr Sims today. Thanks, Chris

Once the haze is there it realy won't come off. I decided that instead of polishing down to remove haze buikd up and I tes sprayed a little area with clear lacquer finish and it was awesome. Problem is you can't get an even coat unless you dip the entire glass which would work.

Take it to a local glass shop & see what they have to say.

I have buffed cylinders that are scratched or stained white on the inside and etched spots in the glass with glass rouge and a buffer. they turn out mint.but its very risky if you lose your grip on the buffer its all over if you buffing the inside. I could fix it but you are few states away. I have a t177 it has external light fixtures on the bonnet. marty

Thanks for the input. Marty, my top has cutouts for the external lights as well. Is that one of the differences between a 176 and a 177? Also, tell me a little more about glass rouge and the buffer. This is on the outside of the glass so I think I can do it safely. I have an automotive waxer/buffer as well as an angle grinder that I think will take a buffing wheel. I don't know much about glass but it is so odd that when wet it looks awesome but you can watch it dry in seconds it comes back.

Have you tried a product called: "AMAZ Water Stain Remover" Distributed by Geil Enterprises Inc. Fresno CA 1-800-921-6861.
I bought my AMAZ at a local glass shop and it worked for me cleaning my visible glass & site glasses. It took off the very hard stains from the inside with a little hand rubbing.
