Can someone explain the difference between a Bowser 557 and a 565 HC? I just bought what appears to be a 557, but the tag says 565. I'm wondering if what I have isn't really a 565 HC, but I'm unsure what the "HC" designation really means.
I have posted an ad in the "wanted parts" if anyone has any spare parts for sale.
Thanks everyone!

I think they are pretty much the same pump. I have had both in the past, and they looked identical. I am guessing that there was some kind of an upgrade in the pump assembly from one model to the next.

I had a 565 that had the ad glass below the face. 557 has ad glass above the face, but noticed in Jacks book there is a 565 with ad glass above the face and has a hose recoiler. That must be the one you have and would explain the HC on your ID.

Thanks guys! I was going off Jack's book as well. My pump has the large ad glass above the faces as well as on the side panels. My pump doesn't have a hose recoiler. The tag just says 565 A. I noticed the 565 HC from Scobie's website.

Phillip, Here's my 565A. I don't think it was listed in Jack's first book as a 565 and I always wondered if there were 2 pumps that looked identical but had different numbers. Mine doesn't retract the hose but had a 575 high base that did. Hope this helps. Rod

Great looking pumps guys! That's how my pump is made too. Yours looks much better though. I'll try to post some pics later tonight. Thanks a bunch!

Rvanpelt and Itsagas... Were your pumps originally setup for globes? Or did you just add one Itsagas? My pump has a smooth top piece with no provision for a globe. I really like how your's looks Itsagas! Very nice!!! I'm leaning now from Phillips to Tydol now. Where did you get the ad glasses from?

Philip, My Bowser 565A pump came with an original 7 inch globe mount which worked out well 'cause my 16 1/2 inch TYDOL globe has a 7 inch base. I got my ad glasses from T- Way. Rod
