I also think you have to be at the right place to make a good sell. Two weeks ago I went to an auction and the guy sitting next to me paid $2200 for a tok 39 restored in pure colors with a 1988 globe on it . Then he paid $175 for a new bullet trash can and bought the maching pure lubester and paid $ 375 for it . I ask him if he was a collector and he said no but I think that stuff is worth that. I should have asked for his number.

I had this Bowser 410 restored in Sunset I was trying to sell awhile back for $2200.00 (thats what I had in it)and dropped it to $1800.00 and no interest. Ended up trading it plus cash for this Tok 34.

That Starkey was mine, but everything went downhill from there to a new low for me. I think other people are right about alot of things, right place, right time, how many things are coming on the market, age of some collectors, and of course the economy. It was still very tough to see as Ray said, old friends that you work on and have for years go down the road and do not bring their potential. Just a reflective thought.
