Hi. I'm looking for a decent steel or copper fitter ring for a 5" screw base glass globe. This fitter ring would be for the typical 13-1/2" screw base glass globe body. Thanks. John

John--Pergyl gas pump globes has some repops and I've used one before and it worked real well. I guess I've never seen an original seperated from its globe?----KEVIN

Thanks, Kevin. You're right....the original rings are hard to unscrew! I have coaxed them off by running hot water on the metal base, while rotating the globe by hand. The hot water will expand the metal ring a bit, while the glass body screw threads remain unchanged. The ring can then usually be screwed off. Haven't broken one.....yet! Best, John
