WHAT WHERE THEY? MADE OF....? HOW BIG? SEEMS A STRANGE ITEM TO REPOP, BUT I GUESS THAT STUFF IS OUT THERE. CERTAINLY TAKES THE FUN OUT OF COLLECTING ESP WHEN YOU'RE NOT IN THE KNOW OR BUYING THRU THE MAIL.

I know how you feel , I bought a big sign poster in a frame and it looked great even had the date at the bottom , Took it out of the frame and on back was the reprint date. took it outside and burnt it.

Man Russ I wish I would have known about them. Even with them being repops they were super cool and I would have given you something for them. I'm addicted to things that have airplanes on them. Also I haven't forgot about getting back to you on the cans I'm just tossin around numbers in my head you'll have an email from me tomorrow.

I CAN RELATE. BETTER TO JUST BURN, BREAK OR THROW OUT YOUR MISTAKE RATHER THAN BE REMINDED OF IT.

MY QUESTION IS, WHAT MADE YOU SUSPICIOUS OF THEM BEING REPOPS?

Guess one could always just mark them as repos--alot of people I'm sure would like them for decorations in homes/cottages etc. Doesnt matter to them they arent real.

Heck--the number of real Shelby Cobras running around surely pales next to the number of kits/remakes.

Just my 2 cents

Here is my 2 cents worth....

I have been caught a few time when I was buying/selling antiques. Plus I have been caught with gas and oil stuff a few times. I would just resell it has a repo or fake and mark it has as such and tell myself....lesson learned!!!!

Why destory it? Somebody else might enjoy it. Plus if you destroy it...it will not reduce the number of fake's and repo's in the wind unless it is one of kind.

With this great forum we have (Oldgas) we will always be "Life Time Learners"

That's my thinking...

Russ, I think you did the right thing, assuming they were repops. Actually, I've wanted to do that for a long time! If I had enough money, I'd buy up unmarked reproductions and have a grand ole' time using them as shotgun and pistol targets! Globes included!
