My good friend Larry Robertson had a heart attack yesterday. They did a catheter on him today and he needs quadruple bipass surgery.I know a few people on here know Larry and hope you keep him and Ruth in your prayers.I'll be seeing him tomorrow to try and cheer him up a little. He is at Mercy General Hospital in Muskegon,Mi 49444.Larry has been in the pump business longer than most in this hobby as he worked for the Bennett pump company in Muskegon for a long time and now traveles to many shows selling the pumps he once made by restoring them to their glory.

Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family at this time. Met him on my first trip to Iowa with my son who was a young kid and is now 30. Was very kind to us and we wish him well.

I will always remember the pump wraps that his wife made for him to transport the restored pumps. They are like pillow cases for pumps and keep all the dirt and bugs off the pumps while they are in the back of his trailer.

I pray his recovery is quick!

Larry and family will be in my prayers tonight. Lots of folks get those bypass operations and come out very well. Hope Larry is one of them.

Met Larry back around 1990. He was at Iowa Gas every year. Went to his house outside Muskegon once. Nicest guy, always ready with sime kind of a quip.
LARRY, we'll see you at Iowa in August.

Just got off the phone with Larry he sounded good and his spirits were good also. The surgery is tomorrow morning and the doctors told him there should be no problems other that 8 weeks of recovery time. I think he was more worried about the 8 weeks recovery than the surgery. If I hear any thing else I will be sure to let everyone know

Lynda and I got home earlier this evening. We spent the afternoon with Larry,Ruth and Terry his son.We had a great time laughing with everyone and especially Larry's situations he has got his wife into in the past.Next time you see Larry ask him about the time he wanted Ruth to hold something while he welded it.He didn't know she was barefoot! All in all we had fun but when it came time to come home you could see in his eyes he is worried and I don't blame him.Ruth said she will let me know tomorrow how things went and I'll keep you posted

Larry, you are one of the good guys that helped myself and Bob Pettigrew get into this hobby in the late 80's. Good luck, sure you will be fine and will be watching out for that smile at the next big gas meet. Jill and mine prayers are with you. Jill and Rob Vest

Talked with Ruth this morning, they think he may have had a mini stroke as it's taking awhile for his left side to come around. She said Jerry Keller called and he received a couple cards and when she told him who they were from he knew. But yet still having problems recognizing people and one of them was Ruth.He asked for Green River and they are going to try and give him some but for now he has tubes down his nose.I chuckled and told Ruth that there was no respect remembering his soda but not her.She laughed, and we hope they keep their spirits up as I'm sure my buddy will be just fine. He's setting up and will get his own room tomorrow.

Dave and I called Larry at the hospital, talked with him for a while, sounds good, and sounds just like by buddy Larry. He is a pretty stronge willed person and determined to get better, so he will. Our Love and Prayers are with Him and his family.
