Great looking pump, but factory correct it is not. That thing probably rolled off the assembly line with a lot of unplated cast and pot metal, painted with an oil based red enamel. Whatever station it ended up at probably then painted it with a brush. Did clear coat even exist back then? Good luck at $11k+. I think that would set some kind of record. Maybe take it to Barrett Jackson.

I agree with your post, but he is proud and is very good at the itemizing of work. As the rest of us, we all are proud of our jobs whether it be restoring or just having to polish it up. Good job with both the pump and your ad Chad. Couldn't be any worse than the guy who wants One million dollars for his stuff on ebay, there is always room for movement.

SPAR VARNISH was/is used on wood, not paint.
