Dominic was at the Hoosier Gas show selling stuff. He had a Sunoco pump that he claimed was found inside and never been outside and had an original Sunoco globe on it. He also had a neon sign with him... maybe a firestone? I thought he was in jail?
Looking for anything from Hoosier Pete, Platolene 500 and Red Bird.

I didnt know who he was prior to the show, but at first glance i thought that he was the guy from american pickers he pulled up in a van just like them. Then I was told who it was an the story. I wish it would have been the guys from american pickers we could of had a lot of fun with them.
Originals only for me. Always looking for Simpson oil, Super A, and MFA oil cans and globes. Shawn Morris

Thanks, db! Very interesting reading. Did Mr. White ever get his signs back? This all happened before my time here at Oldgas. Hate to read and/or hear of anyone in our hobby getting ripped off!

Bob, Dick is right... you search his name in the search box and can read the locked posts and the open posts on Dom and see what kind of a guy he is. That is a name you need to keep in your memory bank not to deal with.

I know who he is, his territory is mostly the eastern part of the U.S. He has shown up at the CTO show in Columbus.
After 25 years in this hobby you sort of get to know just about every body, expecially those who have bad reputations.
If he had a pump in front of me and I was interested in it, and he said he wanted so much for it, and if it was about what I thought it was worth, I would buy it.
But....would I trust him if he told me he would ship something to me that I paid him for, no way.
Not only one hand on your wallet, but both hands.
I have seen him selling some nice stuff, but his problem is taking someone else's items, telling them he would sell those items and send the money to the original owner. If he went to jail, that is why. He sold someones collection and never paid them.

I remember chasing him down with a 615 handle at Iowa Gas one of the years it was in the south parking lot. When i asked him where my $350 was another guy got in the act , took my name down , gave me my refund and had me sign a receipt. If you are old or new in this hobby your reputation is right behind you. News travels fast in this small group of collectors.

Best thing to do is stay away from him. I do not personally know him or dealt with him but have heard enough from many other collectors to know he is someone i do not want to deal with.
