the other day scanning the local ads a UTV 4 wheel drive vehicle was advertised for 2800. these are at a minimum 8000-9000, so I responded thinking a great deal was to be had, the next morning a John Deere similar one was on another areas CL for 3000. I responded to that also. I soon started thinking something is not right here. I soon got an email back as follows (Hello,

This mule is fully functional, it runs and looks great. It's 4wd and has only 158 hours on it. Hate to sell but I'm getting ready to deploy to Iraq in a month and don't want it gets old in my garage. It's still available for sale if interested, price as stated in the ad $2800.

soon after an email came from the other ad, different name, different location, this guy was getting deployed to Afganistan not Iraq, even thou it was in my CL, vehicle was in Florida in a storage container and would be shipped free of charge to buyer, AFTER we sent our name, address, phone #, etc.

Just thought I would pass on a new way they are trying to scam people, Even using the Military as a ploy. I did send back an email with all kinds of names and accusations, left out my phone # though.

Sorry to say, thats not new. Been going around a long time.

My Father-In-Law just got the same scam different vehicle but if I remember right he said $2800 for a newer Jeep.
I do remember one year ago when I was looking for another car. I responded to an ad for a 2 year old Mazda car for $2800. Same scam different vehicle but $2800 must be a magic number for these scammers.
