Welcome to old gas, there is a carriage bolt on each of the corners of the top. If you reach up next to the frame you should be able to feel the nuts for each one. If you go to publications on this site you should be able to find a restoration guide for pumps. Hope this helps, would love to see some pictures of your pump. Richard

Welcome to Oldgas.com Shop Talk.
Normally we recommend taking out the electric motor and pump mechanism. Makes the pump lighter, easier to move and smell better.

The Guide to Gas Pump Restoration shows restorations of a visible, a clockface and an electic gas pump. The electric is a Tokheim 300, which is a very close model to the 39.

Welcome to the site Workman. Follow this link, in my opinion, possibly biased, it has a lot of good pointers....

I have both color sales literatue and a parts repair manual for this pump. While the parts repair manual was not meant for restoration, it does show every part of the pump. This is what was in the box with the pump when it was delivered. If you are interesed in either, just email me: jhsim@swbell.net

If you have any interest at all in gas pumps you should buy Jack Sim's "An Illustrated Guide to Gas Pumps" and "PCM's Guide to Gas Pump Restoration" by Wayne Henderson and Scott Benjamin they have both been invaulable to me.
They are well worth the money spent! There are several people on oldgas with a tremendous amount of knowledge to help you out.
Good Luck and Welcome to Oldgas!!!!!!!!

As I mentioned above, I can offer you Sales and service literature. If you email me the entire information found on the ID tag, I can tell you when the pump was made.

Could you take another look at that ID tag, could that P, possibly be an A. Can't find anything on a LRP.

My mistake, there is a Tokheim 39-LRP, it is a remote island pump.
