I JUST RECENTLY GOT A NEW TOP "AD GLASS W/GLOBE HOLE" FOR MY WAYNE 80 ,SO I REMOVED MY BASIC TOP THAT WAS ON THE PUMP,AND AM TRYING TO FIT THE TOP ON CORRECTLY,"IT AIN'T HAPPENING" ,AM I MISSING SOMETHING HERE?,IS THERE A "RULE OF THUMB" TO KNOW ABOUT FITTING A TOP THAT DOSE NOT WANT TO GO ON?? I'M ONLY OFF BY A HAIR! ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE HELPFUL,THANKS !

It should slide right over. You might need a screwdriver to help it along a little.

I cant say with out looking at it but try to loosen up the skins and move them around to fit the top.when I assemble cars or pumps I have the bolts sorta loose until every thing fits.marty

Its not uncommon to have a pump with a small twist or lean to it. If you cant get the fasteners to line up and rotating the top does not work you can try a couple of things. First I would try getting two or three of the fasteners started, then use a prying device to try to align the other holes. If that does not work, I would try loosening up the side sheetmetal and the frame rail mounts and see if you can wiggle the pump to fit the top. You could also try carefully to put a small twist into the top.
