I redone this pump a couple mounths ago. All I needed to buy was ad glass and decals. It needed one frame rail, light manifold, sight glass manifold and some trim that I had already collected. I even had the body materials, primer and old school oil base brush paint so I thought I was good until I decided to buy $342.00 worth of original pump plates with money I did not have. Oh well, thought it came out pretty good for a brush job. Uploaded with ImageShack.usUploaded with ImageShack.usSides, frame rails and one door needed minor body work. One door needed a lot. I'll let you restore my pump with money I don't have too. Looks great! Better yet I'll take that red Chevron Supreme pump and you won't have to lift a finger. Haha Mike

Mike, it took three years of waiting for John (old racer) to decide to sell it to me.

Lee, I am not sure when they will be done. I work on them for a few days then I get busy doing other thing and then I ignore them. It is alot of work saving the lower sheet metal just to have that embossing. Only two more doors to finish, then they are ready to prep for paint.

Looks like you are running out of room and ceiling height:) That problem seems very familiar, probably to a lot of these folks.

The key to a good paint job is in the prep. Even if it is getting brushed. This pump was previously stripped and painted so that saved a little time. I sanded it smooth, did the needed body work (previous person only painted it and did no bodywork or welded unneeded holes), primed and wet sanded it. The oil base paint flowes nice so the brush strokes are faint. Here is a close up. You can see the faint brush strokes and some dirt. The oil base paint takes so long to dry its hard to keep dirt out. Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Matt, looks really good to me! I guess it's a personal preference - some of us want to have the base coat/clear coat look to find a pump attractive, Some wants an original rusty loook. I tend to lean more to the semi gloss, myself :-) Br Claes
