Ok, not an original title. But anyway, I finally got my lights wired on my pump today. I gave up trying to reuse the old sockets as many suggested. I had to drill out the opening in the new sockets a little and basically configured a galvanized plumbing 1/2 bushing and a reducer to 3/8" to make it work.
I used zip/lamp cord wire from the sockets to the switch, then ran 14-2 from the switch to a plug. I also ran a ground from the 14-2 to the switch and from there to the frame. Maybe its overkill, but its going to be outside and I have a lot of respect for electricity.
My Frontier globe isnt going on the pump! It will be Texaco Fire Chief. Just stuck that on to see how it was going to look.
Thanks to everyone who helped me along. If anyone would like the original porcelain sockets they are in decent shape and you can have them for shipping.
John

Cool!!! The title is fine. I used the same title when I had some plugs and switches added to my garage so I could light up my pumps.

Never in a million years did Bud Robineau when he bought the refinery in Cheyenne, Wy in 1940 think that it would be advertised in Vermont 70 years later in 2010. Mitch
