Money, pure and simple. Signs are expensive, especially original signs. If one can find/make repops and fantasy signs, weather them and sell them as originals. One can then turn a "pretty" profit. If you ask about his signs, most of the time you get no answer. If one does get an answer it is pure BS, or that is my experience with this seller.
IMO, if you aren't an expert on signs, ask questions here. Pick up books on signs and advertising. Better to ask about a sign that you have a question about and find out it is an obvious fake or fantasy, before putting out good money on something that is is worth $20 and you have put out hundreds. We see that all the time, unfortunately.
I don't have a lot of money, even less since I got sick. So I steer clear of most signs, mostly because of a lack of funds.
When small regional company pump plates are repopped then everyone hold on to your hats. Quite a few of these company signs are holding their value and adding value because they are scarce and hard to find in decent shape. Atleast that is the opinion of this sign novice.
