I just bought a gas pump and don't know what kind it is, etc. I would like to be able to identify it, so I can purchase parts, etc. I have pictures of it, but do not know how to attach them to this posting, or where to post them so others could look at them. (This is my first time in this forum.) Any ideas?

Welcome to Oldgas. If you want to send the photos to me, my email is rain3482001@yahoo.com or you can go to the testing forum and follow the directions there and practice posting photos. Either way, I suggest you go to the testing forum and practice posting. If you plan on keeping us informed about your pump, then you will want to post many photos. We really like photos here. LOL

The other way you could identifiy your pump is to purchase my 352 page (1900 illustrations) Gas Pump Identification book. Information about the book can be found at www.petrocollect.com

My literature section probalby includes you pump, but you will probably have to go through a couple of 1000 files to identify it.

My Gas Pump ID book is the most read book in the hobby.

Air Operated is a BD 61, Hand Pump Operated is a BD 62.
The 2 pic's under WAYNE are the BD 61 & 62, not the WAYNE 83 & 87.
The cylinder casting of the BD is a convex concave . On the Wayne 83/87 cyl. casting looks similar a 615 casting w/o the large webs on underside.

WAYNE bought out the Boyle Dayton Pump Co. about 1928 & continued the brand pumps as Boyle Dayton Pump Co. Division of Wayne Pump & Tank Co.

Vic's is also another place that might have original parts as these were a West Coast [Los Angeles] Company.

VERY FEW BD's were sold w/ a globe holder.

Thanks for the information.
I have been looking at this pump in front on my neighbor's shop for the last 30 years, or so. He was finaly ready to sell it a couple of weeks ago.
It looks better in front of my shop!
I just plan to fix it up a bit (glass, paint, decals, etc.).
The information you provided will help alot.
Thanks again.
