Hi folks. I picked up a Good Year winged shoe sign today. It is blue and white, measures 63" x 25". ABSOLUTE GREAT shape! It is statrting to grow on me, as I usually like signs with wording on them. My question is, what era is this sign. It is lettered on the back, property of good year tire W73. Is the W73 1973? It is porcelin so I am not sure. The lady I bought it from says it is from the 50's. THANKS guys and gals! Leroy.

Leroy, 1973 sounds about right. Earlier Goodyear signs were blue and yellow. I'm not sure what year they changed from yellow to white but I think it was in the 60's or 70's. Anyone know for sure? Bob

Leroy they used the blue & yellow in the 50s & 60s. In the early 70s they changed to white. I have the Goodyear letters with the wing foot done in white porcelain with blue & on the back it says 1973. So I think it is safe to say that they changed from blue to white in the early 70s. If I am wrong I will be corected LOL. Hope this helps

Hey Leroy, If you are interested, I have the GOOD YEAR letters that go with that size shoe. They are also porcelain and in excellent shape. I will send you an email.
