My Aug/Sept issue of Reminisce arrived today. First thing I do is browse it looking for articles and/or stories relating to our hobby. This issue had a great story, so I copied it for those who don't get the magazine.Uploaded with ImageShack.usThe website has some great looking vintage photos of the station in it's "Hey Day". Too bad more of these great old stations can't be saved. I envy those who live in the general location of this station. This is a restoration I would love to see first hand.

According to the website, the station was built in 1930, so 80 yrs old this year. As, to the cell phone billboard; That part of TN was just a little "ahead of the curve". Of course their cell phones were connected by string, but if you had enough string and a big enough truck to haul the string around, you could talk to most everyone, in a 2 block radius. I believe this is the progress they had made so far in the restoration; Uploaded with ImageShack.us

It wouldn't of lasted in Wyoming. With our wind it would have taken off a long time ago. Mitch
