For me, these type of 5 gal cans are too cumbersome, bulky and common.
We had them all over our "tractor shed" as I was growing up, as my dad filled up the tractors and "cats" with oil a couple times each year.
Plus, again IMO, they don't have the history or looks of rocker cans.

While I agree that these type of 5 gallon cans are bulky, I disagree they are common, in GOOD shape. (Unless Bob you were talking about this can in particular, which you do see regularly in nice shape.) I have been to many a farm, looking for gas/oil items, and I would say 9 out of 10 of the 5 gallon cans I find are not, in my opinion, in collectable condition. Plentiful yes, nice no. Of course I live in Michigan and the climate here is not that good at preserving painted metal items in uncontrolled conditions. Maybe they are common in good condition in other parts of the country, but I don't see them for sale? I only own a couple of these cans in what would be considered truly collectible condition. A few others I own are space fillers until a nice example comes along. I think all one has to do is to look at how much a really nice clean example of some of these cans can bring. While not the price of a rocker can, I've seen some pretty good prices on some. There again, it's all about condition! Again, just my opinion but I think they deserve a place in a serious collection. Darin P.S. I do agree though this can is on the low end of the spectrum! Common can in the common condition!
