Have a bunch of ads for that company, from the 20s. I believe they were out of Houston, TX or somewhere in TX. That is the symbol shown in the ads.

Sim and Simms, good old Scottish names.

Nice sign! Double sided correct? Anybody know what it might be worth? Saw one in Indiana last year but passed on it not knowing what it was. May still be there, Webbs Antique mall in Centerville for you folks up that way. Any chance somebody on here knows where to get repo globe lens made? Would like a set for Citizens 77. Joe Dirt.

Paul,
First of all WELCOME to oldgas!
You definately came to the right place!
I just searched aumann + matthews auction results and they have NEVER even sold a simms sign before...Thats usually how I get an estimate on value IF I dont know...
I think your sign is worth 400-600...If it had some graphics it would be alot more...
Try ebay! I have good luck with clean uncommon signs on ebay!
Good Luck with it...

Sorry it has taken me so long to respond...

Thanks for the very warm welcome to Oldgas. I really appreciate all the info everyone has given me. I am really impressed at the knowledge base here and now have a pretty good starting point to do more research.

Joe dirt- yep,the sign is double sided.

Hud oil- I checked out the Aumann auction you mentioned and it is the same sign. (Paint chips match the pics)

Thanks again!!!
-Paul
