Please list the Design Flaws you have noticed when Restoring/working on pumps.
Mae West - leaky seal around gallon selector pipe. Roman - P.I.A. to replace a gate valve body or pump piston seals. Wayne 519 - Too many moving parts & leaky seal around gallon selector pipe. Tok. 36B w/ Station lighter - Station lighter sheet metal had to be removed just to raise the top to change a dead bulb behind Adv Glass. [Both doors had to be removed the 1st time to remove 4 screws holding top on & I'll bet were not replced]. Tok. 36B Metal Top - Remove globe, remove 4 screws in top plate to change a dead bulb.
I know of more, but lets see what others have noticed. db

Wayne 511-Removing either of the glass doors from the pump itself against it's spring loaded hinge, quickly scratches & scuffs the shine off it's stainless chrome corners.
Wayne 501 Oil Can Rack-Although extremely similar in cosmetic appearance, many parts are uniquely different then the Wayne 505 & 605 gas pumps, and not interchangeable for it.
A.O.Smith L-505-Changing the prices or servicing the VRoot isn't practical. The interior stainless sides put up a fight & won't let the face plates lift up & out...eminates like fingernails down a chaulk board.

This is more of a manufacturing flaw than a design flaw. After working on some Bennett pumps [oops sorry DB] I have found that the hinges from the 500, 600 and 700 series pumps were installed unpainted raw steel condition. Result: frozen and bent or broken hinges & bent or warped doors.
A Gilbert & Barker 80 had an indented circle in the top which allowed water and dirt to accumulate around the globe holder. = RUST
