Hi, I'm new to Petroliana gas signs.
I have a Sinclair Service Station sign, and I have zero idea what it is worth. It is about 18 feet high, white Sinclar is red, dinosaur is green. There is a place for a light on top but it does not work.
Any ideas? thanks a lot. I do have a pic but not sure how to post.

Two "newbies" this morning. Welcome Chevybowtie. 18'? Is this sign on a pole and that is the total height? Is the sign trapazoid shaped? I'll leave instructions on how to post a pic to someone that can explain it better. It's not hard once you get the hang of it.

The sign itself is about 3 feet tall, trapazoid shape and it is on a white pole (not completely round itself). The whole thing is 2 piece.

This sign version was introduced in 1959. The sign itself is worth $200-$400 depending on condition. The value will not appreciate much more WITH the pole. The average sign collector has no place or means to erect this large of a complete pole sign. Even though the poles are becoming a little more collectible, due to the "more affluent" collectors that have access to cranes and even helicoptors. You might get $500 for the complete setup if the right guy comes along.

Thank you so much for your prompt reply! I bought the house almost 2 years ago and the original owner was suppose to take the sign. He never came and got it but called this week and said that now he wants to come get it or I could buy it from him for $2,000. He said he has seen them sell for $4,000. People are amazing!
I am now attached to the sign and have been looking for gas pumps to put on either side. (original owner had some)

$4000... I don't think so. Tell him you'll give him his asking price of $2,000, but you have levied a $4,000 "storage fee" against them! LOL

If that sign was left at my house for that length of time, it is now my sign. The owner has had reasonable time to get the sign and made no effort until now? Tell him you'll sell it to him for $4000, that it is your sign.
