Since it is now been announced on a website (I have known about it for about two months) there is going to be a new TV show you might all like to take a look at.
You all remember Rick Dale of Rick's Restoration from the Pawn Stars show on the History channel. I have known Rick for about ten years, we became friends when we set up together at the Auburn show. He eventually purchased over 75 gas pumps from me.
Rick now has his own TV show, it is called "Rusty Nuts" and will premier on the History channel on Monday, October 25th with two shows back-to-back.
I have supplied a little back up information on one of the restorations he will do. I know what some of the items will be that he is going to restore, but I don't know in what order they will be presented, so I'll be tuned also to see what the next restoration will be.

He isn't just a restoration specialist, he is also a magician. I saw him do something on Pawn Stars that was simply mesmerizing.

I know what you are talking about, and I know how and why that was done, just take my word for it, it was not Rick's doing.

I seen the vendo 39 into a cavalier 72 trick. I wonder if he could turn my gilbarco into a wayne 800. LOL It's still his reputation, regardless.

Rick's producer's website says the show premiers on the 25th, this website says the 18th.

Most websites say the show premiers the 25th of October, but a posting from today states the name has been changed from Rusty Nuts to AMERICAN RESTORATION.

More power to him. I realize that his restorations might be a bit over the top but, he is certainly shining a light on our hobby. How bad can that be? Paul www.severngaspumps.com

I watch Pawn Stars, but am unsure of who you are talking about and what he did, but I would sure like to know.

...here's what was presented on the show:

...the host of Pawn Stars bought a piece of $#!+ Coke machine at his shop - a Vendo, I believe - that was missing the guts, covered in rust (I mean it was brown), and had a huge dent in the top...it was something that most of us would pass on...

...the host of Pawn Stars then took the machine to Rick's Restorations, where Rick cheerfully described his vision of how he was going to 'restore' the machine to make it usable again...

...later in the show, the host goes back to Rick's and is presented with a restored Cavalier, and told it was the same machine, restored...which he happily accepted as the truth...

...mysteriously, the rusted Vendo made an appearance on Rick's website, where it was converted to a refrigerator, complete with before and after pictures...

...basically the whole thing was a fraud, a lie...if you read the History Channel message boards at the time, there were quite a few people who were rather angry...no, I didn't post there - didn't have to...

...so, the statement that the fraud was 'not Rick's doing' sounds inaccurate to me...anyone who saw the clip knows how and why it was done...unless his family was being held hostage somewhere, there's no excuse for it...it's pretty obvious that he traded his credibility to promote his business on Pawn Stars, and apparently it got him his own show (wonder how truthful that will be smirk ) ...and The History Channel further dumbs-down its programming in an effort to secure viewership of the lowest common denominator...they must feel it's working for them, since they've added 'American Pickers'...

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...
