Does anyone have any pictures of an Amoco pump from the 60's or 70's? I bought a Wayne 734 and I want to make it an Amoco pump or a Standard pump but I don't know what they looked like back then.

Alex, in the 60's , well 1960 to be exact , Amoco Premium went from a Brewster Green to a Dark Royal blue with a Gold band in the middle with White . American regular was red with White , formerly , a Mustard yellow .

Before 1960..........

After 1960.

The pumps in the second picture are exactly what I would like to model mine after. Do you have a close up picture of one of them? Also is that a real station or a model? Either way I think it is pretty neat looking. I found this picture on the internet but unfortuantly it is not in color and there is nothing in the ad glass at the top. What did the ad glass have on these pumps back then and what did the body pannels at the bottom look like? Those are the two parts I really have no idea what they looked like. Other than that it is just stainless steel. Here is the picture http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1146/3164799985_7f475d6869.jpg

Alex, somewhere I have whats needed . meanwhile as far as the bottom panels go, they were generally stainless steel if they were the newer types . The color was only used in the Computer areas .

American Regular leaded gasoline :
Bottom if stainless
Red band on Bottom where the word American regular is white on red background .

The advertising glass was white plexiglass with Black or Red American on White background

Amoco Premium:
stainless bottom if used

Dark Blue band at bottom of Computer . Gold lettering or white letering - Amoco Premium

American low /no lead :
Light blue equivelent to Ford truck sky blue from about 1960 was used . Same as American and Amoco.

Alex, let me scour throught all my old Amoco stuff, it's very disorganized but i'll eventually find what you need. Ed Shaver

Awesome thanks! Also did some stations have Standard on the ad glass instead of American? Never really seen American oil stuff before but out here in the midwest I have seen Standard and Amoco. Here is a picture of the bottom of my pump. It is upside down but that is how the seller stored it and I don't have it put together so I can't take a good picture of it.
