I watched, and am still watching the Cowboys and Giants...... I did some wine shots and "restored" my field of subtle, luminous radiation surrounding myself! I feel good..... I knew that I would !

I liked it. I wish they wouldn't make such a big deal out of the reveal as it's way too staged and I wish they would be more realistic on their idea of the item's value after restoration, but overall it is entertaining, even with my knowledge of how this stuff is done.

I am watching it now......$850 for a restored Hersheys chocolate bar dispenser.......In your wildest dreams!!!!! $3000 for a fridge.....Get the F*ck out of here. I just bought a 1950's Phico for $200. Of course it is not blinged out to the max with 5 layers of clear on it like the one on the show, but it looks great.

He restored that bicycle and the person rode off and the Coaster brake arm was never attached. Hope he didn't have to stop fast.
That is the little stuff that make these shows a joke

How long do you think this show is going to last?

I do not doubt for a minute that rick & his family are great folk's but seriously that show was boring ..i now kinda understand some of the other comments posted on thread, for someone like myself who like's to roll up my sleeves and work on similar project's ,im eager for details & i guess tech talk if you will, anyhow the show just glazed over that stuff and focused on "kowboy" falling........???????????OR JUST WHATEVER BUT NOT GRIMEY DETAIL'S ABOUT RESTO'S.....it was weak ,the 1st show anyway, now i'm not gonna lie,i will watch again as soon as they discus anything on pumps! anyways this is old now ,nothing personal rick,it's the history Chanel.......LET THAT BE THE REASON!......Good luck with the show!

Diesel: I agree with a lot of what you're saying. We watch American Chopper and that is the biggest complaint of that show as well. I don't need to see all the relational stuff...just show me the grinders, welders, and tools. But...the networks have learned they can get the female viewers by mixing in the relational stuff with it.

I liked the show last night, but they could have taken just one resto project for the half hour show and gave more detail start to finish of how it was completed.

I wish them good luck with the show as well.

I will want to watch atleast one more episode before I make a call.

The items looked good at the end. Some of the "facts" put out about the items were wrong, but when you're reading a script....

I too would like a more "hands on" program, but since this program is on History, not Speed or FX it has to be geared towards the "larger audience". Right now, it might make it?

I have supplied background information to the producers of Rick's show for a gas pump. This one might surprise you.

I liked it for the simple fact that it motivates me to get some of my projects done. I like seeing the transformation from a piece of junk to a showpiece.

I will agree that the value of the items were way over inflated. That fridge would suck $3k worth of energy in one year.

I agree with Diesel, the show was boring! People have their item checked out by these supposed experts, little inane comments made about it. Walllla all restored and beautiful and NO idea how they did it. Til the end, where the make a stupid entrance!
I know its all a setup for TV, but I would like to see a more believable and instructive scenario?
One a scale of 1 to 10, it rates a 4 and I'm am being kind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I liked the show.....it could have gone into more detail about the restoration and the prices were definitely inflated, but that is to be expected. I like all of the above shows discussed for the reason that they help the general public understand why people like taking something old and either preserving it or restoring it depending on the situation. It helps people understand me and why I like this stuff so much. It also has made my wife and kids more interested in this stuff. My 7 year old is always asking me ... "when are we going American Picking again Daddy?" I think that says it all... so lighten up guys and be happy that people are recognizing the hobby.

Well-said Jason! It's good to see the younger generation like yours and Rick's son on the show are getting interested in the hobby of collecting and restoring it has to be a LOT better for them watching shows like this than sitting playing video games where you kill everything in your way, texting a bunch of garbage and listening to rap music, these young guys are the next generation and will carry on with our hobby long after we are gone. Remember we don't really own this stuff we are just the keepers for now as it will ALL belong to someone else sooner or later. Even though on the show it is not EXACTLY like some "perfectionists" would do the restorations it get the idea across of the personal accomplishment a good project can bring when completed, and most kids these days have NO idea of what a personal accomplishment or a good project is. I commend Rick for the 100’s of hours of time and effort he has put in to getting ready for this show to be filmed at his place and the knowledge he helps bring to all of us of what is out there and what it could look like with a little time and effort. If you think he is making any money from the TV network for doing the show you are dead WRONG! The only benefit he is gaining is advertising his business and chasing the American Dream of doing what he likes to do instead of working for the man at a job most dread going to 5 days a week. Keep up the good work Rick I for one will be watching next week!!
