wow....a guy is gone for a few hours, and returns to a lot of comments! I was told by a guy who ran a heating business prior to the sign being painted over that it was a Texaco station. Since then, the building has been sold, and the heating business that was advertised on the sign has been painted over. The same guy told me that he had to pay the city $100 a year to keep a posted sign like that up. Since it's not being used anymore, I can't imagine the business that bought the site wants the sign anymore. I've never taken a sign like that down before, so i'd need some help to figure things out. I'll stop by this weekend and ask around. I'll keep you posted.

First of all, no one has answered POLDSIGNKIDS original request for information, he started this thread, someone more knowledgeable than me should give him an idea of the value.

Second, MAPPER, just seek out the closest sign company to drop this sign if you buy it, have them drop it to the ground or on to your trailer, well worth the cost.

Third, I'm heading to Minneapolis to try and find this sign. Just kidding, you have really found a keeper.

Thanks Jack , all I wanted to know is what everyone is paying for a texaco banjo pole... I know someone is trying to sell them for $1500...lol. I just bought 1 weeks ago for $300. And I want to see what others are paying. Because I've been offered 1 for $500. And I'm just checking the board for prices...

Cities service, Vickers, Gas and Auto neons, next exit/ ahead signs and now I'm getting into globes....
