A little while back, someone posted a question asking what an original Tokheim 36B was worth! I answered that the parts alone would bring over $900 and the ebay parts for a 36B, just continue to amaze me! I needed an original nozzle fork for a new pump that I bought and low and behold, there was one on ebay tonight! Well, I was going to have it no matter what, so I sniped it with a $75 bid and my final cost was $66.00 plus shipping!! These pumps are so popular that there just aren't many original parts out there to be found! I remember a certain 36B top with Fire Cheif ad glass that was on Ebay a couple years ago, and it brought $435.00!!!!
Well, it sure seems that prices may have dropped on a lot of things but the Tokheim 36B sure isn't one of them!! Heres a picture of the first one that I ever did!!
Wait till you see this next one!!

I bought a top for 400.00 a few years ago and felt that was a decent price for a nice top. If you need one to complete a pump and can't wait, you just have to step up.
In my opinion the 36b is worth anywhere from 900.00-1500.00
unrestored and complete depending on cond. and location.
Maybe higher if it has some cool original petina ,decals,or ad glass.
Rob
Of course it is only worth what one is willing to pay for it.

Rob,Kevin, I agree with you 100%. I had to laugh at the thread on Sunday when a couple members told Tiller that his 36B with orig. Fire Chief pump plates was worth 6-800. That pump would bring 1000 to 1200 here easy. In fact if anyone has a complete 36B with an original top for sale for 800,I'll take it! Just PM or email me ... grin

Where were you when I had a 36b for $600.00? By saying $6-800 easy, I meant that it was worth at LEAST that much. I guess I should have have said something like, No more than $2000.00. Silly me. Maybe I should have consulted with you before I replied.

Have a nice day.

Kevin, are you going to restore your new one or leave it as is?

A question for the pro's:

I had a friend ask if new skins would change the value of a 36B.
I have no idea, would that make it woth any more or less than origional ones after its restored?

Kevin, Do you know the height and width of the 36b? Can you take the top off to transport?- Just wondering if one of these will fit in the back of a GMC Yukon with the seats down laying the pump on its side.

A Tokheim 36B is about 18 inches by 21 inches at the base and tapers as it goes up. Its about 6 foot 3 inches tall to the top of the globe mount ring and can be even higher if the globe light sticks out the top very far.
