I've been at this since I was a kid,but if you ever come across pre 1970's beer and brewery stuff,I'm your huckleberry.Keep your eyes peeled for cans that needed a churchkey to open, metal or glass signs.Hamms stuff (working or not) old ball tap knobs,openers-you get the idea.

If you have questions on dates/rarity,etc-I'm here too.

Thanks,fellas.

Have a number of things. First a huge 50s' Hamms sign Light up, not motion. About 6' long with Shingle roof and lake scene. Has a crack but does not detract for display. $250. Also a one of a kind Hamms heater, coal fired to keep the Hamms from freezing in the boxcars. Not pretty but definitely one of a kind. Good Offer. Also a Curved sign, porcelain of Silver Rail Beer from Sturgeon Bay wi.. About 1970..Asking $150 Thanks George

No Hamms, but some old cone cans and the cans that open with the church key. They are a bit rusty, let me know if you want pictures.

I've got a full uncut tin sheet of Budweiser cans, I think from the 1960s. What's a ballpark value on that?

How can you tell the age of old beer signs?I have several signs but no idea of age.The two I'm asking about are:

DOS EQUIS.An all plastic light up sign about 14" high that lights up from the bottom. Two big red "Xs"and words engraved into yhe plastic.Stickers on the bottom say:

Cerveceria,Moctezuma S.A.
Dos Equis edge lit sign#1023

SCHAEFER BEER that looks like a bottle cap about 16" in diameter.NOS.The back says :

Printed and manfactured by Pameco Products.Forest Hills,MD 301-879-6670.

Oh by the way.I can speak quite a bit ot spanish so I already know what the words mean. Also, I try to do my fair share of "Colorado Koolaid",AKA Coors!!

When afflicted with a mild case of "halfs-heimers" you forget about your ORIGINAL post-doh! Okay-lets run em down...

Harley cans: Like Billy,MASH,J.R.(of Dallas TV show fame)Schells commemorative cans,etc-they were made by the millions and EVERYONE saved them,it seems. If you list them on ebay, with a flowery description (LOOK!R@RE,etc) you can get a buck, maybe more, especially if you list a few.My saying is "if its aluminum, recycle it"

The rusty cans pictured:Boy,if a few of these were nice or mint,we'd be talking some money. As is-these are a buck or two each,in that shape. They are what you call "dumper" cans.

The uncut Bud sheet-there are about 7-10 variations,so it would depend on age.The big brewers made a TON of cans,so keep that in mind.Sometimes you can improve the condition with a soaking in oxcalic acid, but these look beyond that.A picture helps SO much.
Thanks for all the posts,fellas!

Wes-for the most part, the ring type pulltab cans (that you'd cut your foot on at the beach or drop the ring INTO your can) were collected (and made) in huge numbers and aren't worth much.Keep your eyes peeled for lids like these.

If interested I have a porcelain Guinness sign. It came from a bar in England that closed down. My friend had it shipped over. Hard to read but marked "Produced in Great Britain by Stocal Enamels LTD Burton-ON- ...can't read the rest. 27 1/2" x 18 1/2". Pretty heavy. Condition is a little rough.

I have an old Guinness beer bottle. I found it in an old farm building I was trimming turnips in. It was up in the rafters. I have had it on ebay for a while now, but it hasn't gotten a lot of views. Some guy on a bottle collecting forum told me the other day that it wasn't collectible, so I relisted it cheaper. Incase you are interested I will post the item #: 161294493320
