Picked up this correct sign for my Standard Ignition rack/jars: Also wired and mounted this light I picked up at Michigan Gas. Mounted it over the door of my compressor room in the shop. You can see the ductwork for the furnace I just put in..no more working out in the shop in the cold anymore.

Picked up a couple of Texaco paper posters from the 1930s from Big Cheese that didn't sell on ebay.

For seven years I tried to buy this pump off a porch and never found anyone home, had some friends stop for me who always got the response "Not for sale" Finally Thursday I was making a delivery up in that area and I drove by and knocked on the door, a woman answered and I put a hand full of fanned out bills against the glass storm door and said would you take a cash offer on the pump. She said it was up to her husband who would be home at 3:30 and she gave me the phone number, I called at 4 and made him the offer and picked it up that night on the way home Uploaded with ImageShack.usAnother Milwaukee 870 cash recorder with 1940 skychief pump plates and original globe

Here is my buy of the week, it’s wooden and hand painted, about 32” tall. It is single sided and the back is stained white, you can still see some pencil lines from when the sign painter laid out the sign. It’s a neat early sign, I would guess from the 30’s, I’m not too familiar with Richfield but I don’t think they used this logo much later than the mid 30’s?

Wow... it's been a good week for Bennett's. Now these are nothing rare but the story here is I was driving down a county road not more than 15 miles from home and these were still setting hooked up to above ground tanks. They came from farms about 2 miles apart well within eye sight from the road. I still can't believe they were still there. Just goes to show that the stuff is still out there. Uploaded with ImageShack.usThis trailer load came from within 10 miles of home, all from the same place. I knew it was there for some time just took awhile to get it bought.

Dick, I am totally amazed at you sometimes. I will view a post and then see one of your comments and then I have to go back to see what you spotted and I missed. No top and only a broken Bowser base and good upper sheet metal. Maybe I need a bigger monitor. Tom.

I recently got tired of the Bob and Al show, where all the Veedol cans were constantly showing up, so one night last week, while I was roaming the computer and enjoying too much Bud Light, I lost all my sensibilities and decided to own a couple of these colorful cans! Now, if you've been to my shop, you'll see that I don't have much for cans on display because I don't have a good can display area and I don't have a bunch of knowledge about cans! Now comes the good part--after 4 or 5 Bud Lights, you really don't care about some things when it comes to cans and reasoning seems to go out the window! I was lucky that I thought Bob and Als cans were colorful and somehow appealed to me because there on EBAY were 4 examples staring me in the face!! They were all from the same seller and seemed to be reasonably clean, so I sat myself down in the office chair with the determination to just buy these cans, Period! The Lucky Can Angel was with me that night as the cans in question didn't receive an abnormal amount of bids and I was successful without spending the Christmas present money! The seller was kind enough to combine the shipping and I was left waiting for my new purchase to arrive! The tension was mounting throughout the weekend and I was worried that I had done something really dumb again and the Warden would be coming down on me for my stupidity! When the cans finally arrived, I was pleasantly suprised and delighted that I had gotten such nice condition cans for my moment of determined Bud Light shopping! WHAT A RELIEF! Having lucked out this time and having been helped out by the Lucky Can Angel, I have decided that once was enough and I will forgo shopping in the future with Bud Light accompanying me! I think I learned my lesson but at least I was inspired by Old Gassers Bob and Al, to buy some really colorful cans that I like! Thanks guys!

Added these to my Zephyr, JD Streett collection. A 3.25" thermometer advertising "Uniform Quality Oils" and a towel embroidered "Streett Towing Co"
The towing company didn't involve tow trucks. It was a towboat company that pushed the company's barges of lubricants and anti-freeze up and down the Mississippi. The J.D. Streett company buys lubricant and coolant components from the gulf coast refineries and blends them in St. Louis, MO to package a wide range of brands and products since 1884.
