hi, im new into the gas pump restoring, and i am very interested in doing it right. my questions are as following:
my pump has the original serial number tag on it , is this like the body plate on a chevy? telling you color manufacturing and year? also my pump is red, now i live in n.e. Pa. and up here we had sinclair and texaco and such could that mean its one of the two? any help would be greatly appreciated

Hey Camaroguy... Welcome to this site. The serial # will tell you the year of your pump but not color, brand etc. The oil companys took the pump and branded them after they bought them from the mfg. If that is original paint.. it certainly could be Sinclair or Texaco. I suggest you restore it to whatever makes you happy. There are lots of pictures available on this site for a guide... Have fun with it.

camaroguy327,
WELCOME to the BEST gas site.

Edit your 1st post [by clicking on the little icon at top left of post]. ADD your pump company name [Bowser, Gilbarco, Wayne etc...] and model, ser. #. Someone will answer your quest.

Hey Dick, I am someone, and I thought that I had responded to his question.
Maybe my reply did not appear in your neck of the woods..
Let me know if it did not show up, so that I can complain to my server. Thanks

The way I read his question.
He was ALSO looking for the year. Without knowing the manufacture and model #, there is no way of telling him.
