My name is Pat & I'm from the Finger Lakes area of NY. I am new to this site, but not too auto related stuff. I've built hotrods & Harleys for a while.
Recently I purchased a number of old rusty cars from an oldtimer who was cleaning up his property. He had 50+/- vehicles there and was taking them to a scrap yard one at a time. I purchased 4 of them and dragged them out as time would allow over the span of 2 years. No easy task as most had been sitting IN the ground for 40 some years. My final trip was to pick up a 1930's Chrysler Airflow. This was the very last car on his property and he had called me a couple times to come get it before he took it to the scrapyard. Upon trying to move the car from its resting spot, I tore it in two....there wasn't much left on the bottom side. Discouraged, I drove down to the oldtimer's house and asked if he'd like to take the car himself for scrap & keep the money I had given him, which he was happy to do.
On my way down his driveway, I went past an old barn and noticed an old gas pump sitting just inside the door. I then drove back to his house and asked if he would like to sell the pump. He thought about it for a couple of minutes and then gave me a price. I gave him double what he wanted and loaded it up.
He told me the pump came from and old 4 story mill in the town of Branchport, NY. He & his brother had purchased the mill in the lat 60s and tore it down to make some room for a parking lot for their garage next door. He immediately put the pump in his barn with the intension of someday taking it to Hershey to sell.
I then got it to my house and tried to research a MS 65 but I can't seem to find anything out on this model. Does anyone know how to find the year of this pump? I know they were made in Buffalo, NY until about 1939.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Pat

Jack Sim's wrote " An Illustrated Guide To GAS PUMPS" & " An Illustrated Guide To GAS PUMPS 2nd Edition", just checked his web site; http://petrolianacollectibles.com/gas%20pump%20literature.htm& he hasn't listed the M&S Literature YET! Other than what is listed in the books, that is the only info I have.
