I'm trying to get a good estimate of the weight of the D-X sign I just won on ebay.
If anyone has a good weight value and size of a large sign they have (6' round?) that would help. I could find the weight per square foot, then calculate the theoretical weight of the diamond-shaped DX sign. I need the value to find out how much Specialized Transportation would cost me.
Thanks much, Wes

Weight per sq ft of 6 ft square should be close , will leave room for brakets and or ring. I would addd 25% to the 6x6 weight that should be close unless they really go crazy packing it..

Wes I shipped a 6ft sign in a crate & the total weight was about 90lbs. So I would say 75-85lbs for the sign alone.

Thanks for the input guys.
If the sign were turned into a square it would be 40 x 40 inches.
Calculating using the 75lb value for a 6ft sign (4071 square inches), we find that, theoretially, a 40 x 40 sign would weight 29.8 pounds. That's pretty darn close to the 30-lb estimate that the seller came up with. I had just thought 30 pounds sounded way light, but it looks like the numbers kinda prove it...
Thanks guys, Wes
