Does anyone have a picture of both sides of an Erie 70 pump? I have Jack's book but would like to see a picture also.
Thanks, Phil

Phil: I believe that the photos Powerlube posted are actually of a '71' or a '91' - the Erie 70's don't have ad glass. Other than that the pumps are the same externally. IMO these are very nice looking pumps (I have two of my own) with all the 'Art Deco' styling and the unusual vertical sight glass/spinners. Not to mention the really kewl stainless steel trim on the sheet-metal top. Powerlube's photos are the first ones I've seen where the center 'pillowed' area has not been painted a contrasting color. All the old photos that I've seen show these center sections painted a different color from the 'body'. Later . . . Jim Always buying Ethyl Globes, Ethyl Single Lenses & Misc Ethyl Items.

Great pictures guys. I should have clarified myself and said I need to see both the nozzle side and the opposite side of the nozzle. Thanks in advance.
Thanks, Phil

Dick,
Do you have a picture of the nozzle side of your pump. I have one here but it looks as if it missing something above the nozzle outlet. I can see a cover at one time was screwed on there but is now gone.
Thanks, Phil

The blue glass looks great ! When I picked up my 71 off a farm in Pa, the glass fit behind the face plate. I assume that the pump was originally made with the glass fitting there, I cannot see how it would have fit to the door. Brady

This is an 80 I guess... not the best angle but the only hose side pic I have. Awsome pumps, wish I had one.

Phil:
On the Erie 70's the actual glass panel mountes behind the porcelain face plates. The only portion of glass that you see is where the numbers and price digit openings are.
There is a stamped lightweight metal piece that locates the glass in relation to the porcelain faceplates. This panel keeps the glass from sliding out of alignment during usage.
I'll pull one of my faces apart today and shoot some shots for you (I'll post them on Tuesday when I get back in the office - dial up is too slow to do it from home).
I'd be happy to shoot shots of the side panels - but my pump is not assembled yet as I haven't finished painting the sheet metal. I just have the frame, the electrical and the top done.
---------------------------------
Clockface:
Your 'blue' glass could just be original glass to the pump. Never replaced.
The old glass had a tendency to turn blue with prolonged exposure to sunlight. You see this a lot in old collectable bottles.
Later . . .
Jim

Thanks for all the info. I never thought about the sun doing that to the glass, might be what happened, but it looks good.
