Well I finally had time to finish my globe shelf this last weekend! Waited 3 weeks for the boards as my millwork guy was finishing up cabinets for a house. Had everything ready and when I got the boards it was finally time to finish it and assemble it. The plan was to fill this with Tydol globes but I'm a few short. So I filled in with some other globes I have until I get more Tydol globes (Any out there for sale?). I think it turned out pretty good for my first attempt. Heck, the wife even likes it! Now I need to figure out what to accesorize it with. I'm thinking cans, pump plates and a few other small Tidewater signs. Will post a picture when it is bedazzled ( that's what my girls call dressing it up). Hope you enjoy and would like to see some other globe shelves you guys have built. Chad

The globe shelf looks really good Chad, but the Purol globes dont match so you can just send them to me. LOL Keep working on Jarvis and break him down on his Tydol globe. He might give in someday. It only took me two years of whining before he gave in to me.
Originals only for me. Always looking for Simpson oil, Super A, and MFA oil cans and globes. Shawn Morris

MAN, THAT IS JUST TOTAL EYE-CANDY RIGHT THERE, DUDE! I LIKE HOW CLEAN IT IS AND HOW THE LINES ON THE WALL ACCENT IT! IF I HAD 4 OTHER PEOPLE I'D GIVE IT 10 THUMBS UP.

I need a globe shelf too and maybe this is the push that I needed! I've got a spot to put a shelf like JJ built and I have the plans , so why don't I get started? Just too many irons in the fire, I guess. Maybe this will get me going! Great job, it really looks nice!

Craig, Shelf is hanging from the top with 3/4" all thread. Most likely this would be the best way to survive a earthquake? I wish everyone would stop talking about earthquakes... us globe guys don't like here that word. LOL

Thanks everyone for the positive responses. Shawn, John keeps telling me it's not for sale. He must be slipping cause I swear I saw the words (trade maybe). I will find one someday. Thanks for rubbing it in that I have a long ways to go on the Tydol globes John. If I had them all then I would have to buy the globes you want John. Love the Flying A Ethyl globe! Looks kinda lonely by itself, I have friends for it to join. Thanks, Chad

That globe shelf looks great! I'm jealous! Bob, were you referring to the globe shelf we used to have before we moved, or the one that is non-existant in our not-so-new-anymore house? LOL.

Yes and yes. You could post a picture of the shelf from your old home leaning against the wall in the garage in your not so new to you anymore home.

I know you never have enough room! I designed it to add one more shelf to the bottom of it. Had to do it that way otherwise it would have been to tall for my ceiling to put it up. So it could eventually hold 30 globes.
