I saw this sign on Craigslist Dallas, Texas and on Ebay. I e-mailed the guy via CL and told him since he just sold the sign on Ebay to remove it from CL. He said he didn't sell it on Ebay. I told him his Ebay I.D. matches his real name and both people live in Terrell, Texas (East Texas). He asked me if I was interested in buying the sign. I did not respond. He is selling another one just like it right now and his buddy just sold one on Ebay. 2 have sold on Ebay and 1 is now listed on Ebay and CL. All have the flange straightened.

THE SIGN LOOKS LIKE THE REAL DEAL TO ME. HEAVY SHELVING, THICK RUST & CHIPS AND VERY WORN ALL OVER.

It does looks real to me also, check out his completed listings. He just sold one exactly like the one listed. His buddy also sold one on Ebay last week. Is it possible to have more than one of these signs with a straightened flange? I'm going to watch this guy to see how many of these he will list. I'm selling reproduction Ford Magnolene signs on Ebay, at least I state that they are repops.

I have seen lots of flange signs that have had the flange straightened...the sign that is listed looks to be real (they may have found a few). Looks like the same one I have but mine is nicer without a staightened flange.

I am very skeptical about this seller. I bid on this sign numerous times with two "different" sellers both from Texas!!! And lost all by $5 TWICE. I think they are playing games. So I will not bid again. I think the sellers "buddy" is biding up the price to see what someone will pay for this sign. I put my bid in for $388 and this sign sold for $394 BOTH TIMES. Something if fishy here!!! I am sorry if this is an old gas member but something does not seem right here!! My feeling is they are "Selling" the same sign to each other or themselves!! I do not think the sign is fake- But I am happy I did not buy it for that price- Condition is just ok- Would like to have a flanged one.

Sign sold and one listed now are different, very obvious in the flange area

Yes you are correct. There have been three listings in total. The last two had the rusted flange and one had a flange that was not as rusted. It might be two different signs. One has slight discoloration towards the edge-Like a white fading color. But I am sure I have seen one of them listed twice.

Item 3# 190478849181
Item 2 150529955827-Flange Has more rust
One that is listed now: 150536457674

Take a close look at 190478849181- The flange looks like it was edited in the windows paint program. I am not 100% sure if there are 3 different signs or just 1, or 2. Something is up.

I'm going to get on Craigslist and ask him if the sign is still available.

I asked him if the sign was still for sale and if he was firm on his $450 selling price.

looks like 3 different signs, they probably found a bunch and don't want you to know it. The signs look real to me. The bid increment is $5 when it gets that high so getting beat by $5 is expected.
