I have a chance to buy a 72" Texaco round gas station sign. It is a porcelan veneer sign. The star in the middle is not red though. It is a peach or orange sherbert looking color. I was wondering if this could be some kind of reproduction, or did they make some without a red stat. It says 47 on the bottom. Thanks, Steven

Thanks for the info. The star is the same color on both sides. It has chips in the porcelin, but no gunshot wounds. I would say maybe 10 or 15 and a strip of white paint about 1" wide by about 12" long missing. It is straight though with no big dents or bends. The guy wants $250 for it. Do you think its worth that?

For $250 I would jump on it quick. That is a good deal
