I have a hose outlet bezel that is plated but most of it has worn off. I want to paint this piece rather than having it replated. However, I am having a hard time removing the remaining plating. How do you guys remove the old plating or can you just paint over it?

I would think that you could remove the old plating with 80 grit sandpaper,If most of it has wore off then you are almost done.If you have a dye grinder with a wire brush attachment then it would be even quicker. good luck Mike
