I am an Architect, working on a revitalization of an old community in which there is an old gas station that looks like it came from a childs storybook.

What I need is some help on what the original colors were. Any ideas on the brand of gas? Here are a couple of pictures.
Thanks,
Tom O'Brien

Tom...someone more knowledgeable than me will have to help you with what brand that station was, but I work for a company called Vic's Place, INC., and we carry tons of service station nostalgia, old & new. When you get into the decoration phase, pumps, air meters, island lites, bathroom keys, signage etc....call us at 888 918 7867 or visit us on the web at www.vicsplace.com and we will do our utmost to help you with your project. Thanks, Seth/Vic's Place

Tom:

It would help to know the general vicinity of the country this station is in (i.e. east coast, northeast, etc.) as there are some gas companies that are particular to certain regions.

Conoco built some nice "English cottages" as shown in the book ROADSIDE MEMORIES on page 40 (Pueblo, Colorado station is shown). Architect C.A. Peterson designed cottages with twin chimneys for Pure Oil. Phillips 66 stations had cottages with a single tall chimney with a monogrammed "P" on it.

Your picture looks like a Conoco company style.

Tom -

Looks very much, to me, like one of the old Pure Oil "cottage" stations.
