So what the seller is saying is that it's an expensive refurbished fantasy item.
To start with i had better say this is an old 1930s Telechron clock that has been completely refurbished. The old Telechron movement and motor have been replaced with a brand new Hansen Synchron movement. The light tube and solid state electronic transformer are new, an on-off switch was installed . The clock face is NOT ORIGINAL to this clock but is how an original Cities Service clock "may" have looked. The can and associated parts are old and original and have been repainted. The face is 15", overall it is 21" in diameter. I hope this description keeps the feared Old Gas Repop Police off my *****.If not you guys can go screw yourselves.Email any ? Thanks,Steve

...used to be 'oslosteve' on eBay, and is still registered as 'oslosteve' on Oldgas...
...I guess if you take old clocks that have no advertising, and make them into advertising clocks (and aren't specific about what's added) you're gonna get a visit from the Oldgas Repop Police...
Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

Hey -'Truth in Advertising'. Isn't that what we want to see?
The description tells you everything you need to know about the clock. It's 'originality' and all the work that went into it.
It's just a shame that the artwork for the Cities Service decal is less than stellar. Take a look at the 'lighted front view' and pay attention to the curvature of the 'clover' shape and the consistancy of the line weights.
I do like how the ends of the hands are 'tipped' in white so it exactly lines up with the outer edge of the decal. That is a real nice touch. And the font of the numbers is historically correct for the age of the clock body.
Later . . .
Jim
