I dont know if i am doing this right i do not use a computer all day i use a hammer so bare with me. I have recentley acquired an old prefab. metal gas station i think from the 20s could be wrong but thats why i am heer for u guys to school me.It has 72 panes of glass well it used to have glass but that has long been broken out by some people probably some one like my self many years ago. It still had 2 porcelain signs on it that read MC DANIEL & BOND they were about 16 inches tall and about 12 feet long two piece of course. i will have to upload some pictures when i figure ou how. was just woundering if any one knew anything about these stations and how long ago they quit making them. Any info would be appreciated thanks wayne.

It's hard to say without pictures, but most were from the teens or twenties.

You're lucky - I've been wanting one for a long time.

By the way, there's a thread on uploading images at the top of the list. If you have trouble, you can send the pictures via email to me and I'll post them. My email address is in my profile.

My station was a pre fab that was installed in 1957. I talked to the original owners son who said his dad ordered it out of Spokane. Im looking forward to seeing your station.

I have a station simular in size that I need to drag home. How tall is it? Is it home or do you still have to move it? Any Poolece see ya? You should film some of the drive home. That would be a cool video

Looks great! That's an awesome station - I sure wish I could even FIND and LOOK AT a station like that, much less get one! And for free! You are extremely lucky!

I would guess late 20s on the vintage. It would be very interesting to see if old pictures of it exist in a local library or genealogical society.

Best of luck on fixing it up and preserving a rare piece of history. Very few prefab stations from this era still exist.

The guy smilling is my dad. Me and him are partners in crime on this project we sepperated it and moved it in two pieces on the trailer it was 15' 2" tall and 14' wide . Idrug it about 60 miles even along the interstate and no cops ! Now this is where it gets tricky i poured a slab october 09 and set the station part down on it. Went back and got the awning which is still on the trailer. Then january 2010 my wife tried to kill me with a sword and pitchfork so i left and filed 4 divorce and shae has all my stuff at the moment . 21 signs with poles and most of my pumps excaept my wayne 60 and 2 southwest visibles. but come feb. 10 hopefully i can go and get my stuff.
