Any one who thought the White Mule sign went high should check this out. It’s a rare sign in any condition but $6,800+ and still moving in this condition, really?

Check it out, Ebay auction Number 250756009258

That auction is a PERFECT example of why you should snipe. Had the winning bidder sniped, he "possibly" would have only had to pay $2,400.

They're quite rare, that's a fact. The only official internal Ford Documentation I've ever come across relating to Ford Benzol stations shows 88 stations total in the Detroit area in the early 30's, eventhough in the late 1940's thru 1955, I've been told that number might have gotten up into 130's-140's. I believe this later, higher number would have been Non-exclusive stations though, selling more of a blended Mix. I've seen pictures where Ford Benzol was being sold along Shell Gasoline at a designated Shell Station. Ford Benzol Production was a By-product of Coke Oven operations that began in 1919, and this style sign, Based on the style of font used to spell out "Ford" was the first, I'd say used up until at least the early 30's, so the number of 88 stations might be a good guess as to how many of these signs were ever produced. The seller wasn't lying when he stated it's one of the "Holy Grail's" when it comes to Ford Stuff, Especially in this area of Michigan. I know quite alot of Ford Guys, including myself, that would consider giving their right arm to have an original! But to bring that kind of $$$ in that condition??? Go to "Petroliana News" Section - Posting "Barrett-Jackson" - Sub-Section "More Money than Brains Club"!!!!

Good news for the consigner of the one being sold in Peotone this March by Matthews auctions. Wonder what a restored one will bring?

OK, I see your point Wes, especially since I'm Right Handed! I guess I'd maybe give a couple fingers off my left hand, or maybe both my pinkie toes.... They've got a book at my work where if your injured and one of your fingers gets partially amputated, depending on how many fingers and up to which appendage, you get a stated, set amount of $$$ for the injury.
