I just looked at all of the great 36B pictures on this site and noticed that the center botton trim piece on the front is longer that the other two.

On my 36B all of the front trim pieces or the same length.

Why????????

Gas Pumps, Farmall tractors and 1968 Chevrolet Impalas

I've seen them both ways. I'd guess that the shorter trim strips allowed for placement of a larger pump plate or decal. Sometimes there were two, like a brand plate and an additive decal: ethyl, TCP, etc.

I had one like that. You can see the outline of the large decal. If it had a tall trim in the middle it would have been in the way.
