This is my old gas station that I built 30 years ago at our steam / gas engine show. We get lots of old cars that like to use the station for photo op. Last year we were surprised to have this very rare original 1918 Locomobile limosine come into our show unannounced. The owner drove it 50 miles down the main interstate! This car is exactly like the staff car of General John J. Pershing, supreme commander of the Allied Forces of World War 1. All original body and engine. What a treat to have an exhibit like this! Check out those old tractor / steam shows this summer for strange things! Sam

GOTTA LOVE THAT, SAM! THAT LOCOMOBILE HAS THE SAME PATINA IN THE PAINT AS MY NEPTUNE 855. WAS THERE A SIGN ABOVE SAM'S SERVICE?

Doc, yes there was an original 42" 1930's Texaco sign up there. But after my original wayne 60 was stolen from under the station roof, I started taking things home for keeps. Looks kinda bare up there now, doesn't it? Sam

Ron, it's been a long time since I've been to Portland. Great show! I got started going there when my (then) teen age son was into antique spark plug collecting. That's where the national meet was for spark plug collectors. I don't get as far away from home as I used to! Sam
