I need some globe exprts here, certenly not me. I purchased this globe lense on ebay a few weeks ago. The seller stated that it was not a reproduction. The item I purchased was ebay number 3213061278. I asked the person if they had any more lenses and they said no. Now they have the exact same lens on ebay again. It is item number 3603069474. Exactly the same lense I purchased from them.

It gets better, then I went into thier past selling records on ebay and found more of the same lense they sold on ebay stating them original. I find it odd that they have a whole bunch of original lenses that are all the same. Please help me with this, I am no globe expert. This would of been my first original lense, since I have been only doing this for about a year.

I will email anyone pictures, I have been unsucessful in posting them on oldgas, plus I lost the password again. Thanks, Ryan

Ryan, The globe looks orginal to me too. I looked it up in the globe book to ckeck and it doesn't look like a repo. I looks like you got a great deal on that... i am suprised lastgas didn't to to buy it. LOL

There is no notch at the bottom, just at three and nine o'clock. Im happy about the purchase, even if it is(which it sounds like its not) a repop, I didnt pay very much for it. I mostley wanted it to put into a wall mount for single lenses. It looks real nice in my gas room. Thanks for the info. Ryan

Ryan,
Looks real to me. They are repopping that lens however.
It's not unusual to find several NOS lenses, so I wouldn't worry about it being a fake because he has more of them. If he had told me he didn't have anymore lenses , and then listed another I'd certainly ask him about it though.
Watch out for dimple marks from the lens paper on those NOS lenses.

Hubba,
Working.

Dwaine,
Its from '59-'70.

John,
I bid on it. I just didn't bid very much.
Bob

I once found 64 Marathon NOS lens in a warehouse in Ohio. Still in original wrapping & box. They are still out there, it's just finding them.
Don't email me, they are all gone.
