We were visiting my folks the other night and the topic of old oil cans came up. Dad knows I'm finishing my basement and decorating some of it with petroliana stuff. He offered to go through an old cabinet in the barn and see if there was anything of interest. In 10 deg F weather we went out and found these items, and he gave them to me. I was thrilled with the FORD metal oil can and the two glass oil bottles. On one of the glass bottles the tin spout says "BB" Mobiloil. The other bottle's tin spout is unmarked, but it has a little round rattling valve in the vent hole. I was surprised the tin spout cap had stayed with it all these years. I don't any values for the items, but they will look great in the basement. Thanks for the cool gifts Dad. When it warms up and the snow melts we're going to do some more looking around in the barns and sheds.

That Ford can, sits in a little bracket, under the hood of a Model T. Clean it up real nice, and you might find that its copper plated. Great stuff!

Just my opinion, but that man (your dad) is deserving of a quality father's day present this year.

He's been talking about getting his Farmall H painted. I might have to take a couple weekends and do that for him.

We dug more today in one old barn. Found a Bennett lubester and Erie lubester, 5 gal mobil can (blue and white), some evinrude and chrysler outboard six pack oils, a small aluminum Pontiac hub bearing cap, a krylon acrylic spray (for ignition, chrome, and battery) with paper label, a couple very old outboards (silver evinrude with exposed plugs and tiny props), Two new sets of wipers for 37 Chevy flatbed (if I remember right), and a local insurance agency glass 110v clock (early 60s). The Bennett lubester is mint, the Erie is very nice. Both are red and are the kind that go into a barrel (they do not have the large square tank). We're working out a trade; labor for stuff :-)

Even before you start on tractor, your Dad is on the Better side of the Deal so far! Barrel pumps are worth maybe $15ea around here, More if they have Glass Cylinders.

Yes, but they have a little platform extending off under the oil spout where you can set the bottle while you fill it. The platforms have a hinged cover. I'll get pics when I get over there next.
