I have Tokeim pump that is porcelein. It has a pretty good dent in the corner about mid way. Should I try and remove all of the porcelein as it is faded over all or fix the dent and try to paint to match?

Howdy, My opinion, since I'm doing a Tok.39 with porcelin, is have it blasted and start with fresh metal. I have just had mine blasted and it looks great.

Getting the porcelain off may be quite hard, if it comes of hard, it wiil cost quite a bit, probably heat quite a bit, and probably warp badly..once you pass the sand over it your gloss will be gone..but however the paint will probably stick pretty good.. just no goin back to shiny porcelain..IMO..dodogas

strod: I'm doing two Tok 39s that are porcelain. What kind of stuff did your blaster use to keep panels from warping? I've wanted to do it the way you did but everyone has told me it's too costly and warps the panels.

I have a powder coater that does sand blasting. He just treated them like any other panel. I guess you could get by without blasting them. They always need some body work anyway. So any filler would fill spots where the porcelein is chipped. The top of my Tok I used a glass bead blaster at work to remove the porcelein. It did take a while though.
